Very often, the problem is that the person's hair has been transplanted using the old punch-graft techniques, resulting in a pluggy look that is unnatural. The remedy for this, generally, is to supplement the transplants that are already there by placing follicular units in between them. Because the new follicular units are densely packed, they can equal the density of hair in the existing plugs, so that the end result is a pleasing mass of hair that looks completely natural.
In some instances, we will decide to remove large grafts or plugs that are noticeably unnatural, dissect them into smaller units, and replant the smaller units in a way that appears far more natural.
We have achieved uniformly good results with our corrective surgery, which can also be done in a single session.
 Corrective surgery for scars
We are often also approached by patients who have suffered from an accident at some point in their past. These patients often present to us with unusual scars or hair loss. Some scars/hair loss areas are as small as a 10 cent piece whilst others can be the size of a $5 note.
Depending on the case history and size of the area involved, we may decide to transplant hair into the affected area or, alternatively perform a small scalp reduction to reduce the size of the scar or, perhaps a combination of the two.
The type of treatment required to treat each area can be determined during consultation.
