The cost of the procedure
The cost of the procedure is based upon the number of grafts performed during the procedure. This will be determined by the doctor at the consultation stage and is dependent upon the size of the area to be treated, the density we are trying to achieve in the recipient area, the density of the hair in the donor area and the elasticity of the skin in the donor area.
During the consultation, Dr White will inform you as to the number of grafts that could be removed and the ultimate cost of the procedure.
The cost of one procedure can range from $2,000 to $13,750 with the average being around $7000-$9000. There is also a rebate from the government for net medical expenses in excess of $1500. This rebate can be as much as $2450. The doctor can provide more details at your consultation if you require.
When discussing cost, it should be remembered that what you are ultimately searching for is value. Value has two components, quality and price. When considering hair transplantation, you only have one opportunity to get it right the first time. Bearing that in mind, the end result should be the overriding factor in your decision as to which surgeon you will trust to perform your procedure, whoever it may be.
