How long did it take to make your decision, after your initial consultation?
About three weeks. The video was ultimately what made me decide to go to a seminar. On the night of the seminar, Dr White had three former patients there. They all had their procedure twelve months earlier. To see the result first hand was amazing. I then called the National Hair Institute the following Monday and made my appointment.
Did you have any reservations or concerns?
My main worry was how I would deal with the first month after the procedure; would people notice? I found to my surprise most people didn't even notice. I would say after three weeks I was feeling well enough to do most normal things in life.
Was anybody else involved with your decision to have the procedure and what has been their reaction?
Yes- my wife. She is a hairdresser. She was the one who had heard about Dr White through a fellow hairdresser. She was very interested in Dr White's work as she has many clients that are losing their hair. It was good to have someone come along and support me with my decision.
Have you noticed any changes since your procedure?
My favourite story is my wife's best friend had her 30th birthday party not long ago. We were all talking about how we are all ageing and how old some people looked. She then asked me how old I was. I said 'guess!' Her reply was 29 or 30. 'No' I replied- 'I'm 37'. Wow you don't look it was her reply. I then thought if I hadn't had my hair loss stopped, I would have looked much older than I am.
Do you do anything special to maintain it?
No not really. (Adam had his frontal hairline and mid-scalp region restored.)
How did you find the procedure itself?
I must say I was made to feel very welcome by the staff at the National Hair Institute.
The procedure took less than a day. I was very comfortable and only needed a Panadol after the procedure. I had very little pain during the day or later. The next day we flew back to Sydney, comfortable and very pleased with my decision.
